Father of two who lost his battle for life after explosion laid to rest

Karagüzel, who was married and a father of two, was laid to rest following his funeral prayer. The death toll from the explosion has risen to 5. The factory manager has been arrested as part of the investigation.

In the explosion that occurred on Sunday, September 15, at the Oba Makarna factory operating near the Hendek toll booths on the Anatolian Motorway, 1 person had lost their life and 30 people were injured. 27-year-old Mesut Şimay, whose lifeless body was found inside the factory during cooling efforts by fire crews, was laid to rest in the Akyazı district on September 16. 22-year-old Eray Kızıldağ, who was severely injured in the explosion and lost his 20-day battle for life at the Kocaeli City Hospital where he was receiving treatment, was also laid to rest in the Hendek district on Saturday, October 5.
24-year-old Güven Albayrak, who was severely injured in the explosion and was receiving treatment at the Burn Unit of the Istanbul Kartal Training and Research Hospital, was laid to rest in Düzce after 25 days. Merve Menteş (26), who was also receiving treatment at the Burn Unit of the Istanbul Kartal Training and Research Hospital, was laid to rest in the Hendek district on Friday, October 11, after a 26-day battle for her life.

The number of people who were severely injured in the explosion in the Hendek district and lost their battle for life in various hospitals has risen to 5. In this context, 35-year-old Naim Karagüzel, who was receiving treatment at Kocaeli City Hospital, lost his 29-day battle for life.
Karagüzel's body, which was handed over to his family after hospital procedures, was brought to the Central Mosque in the Çağlayan neighborhood of the Hendek district. Karagüzel, who was married and a father of two, was buried in the neighborhood cemetery following the funeral prayer held after the afternoon prayer.
FACTORY MANAGER HAD BEEN ARRESTED
Within the scope of the investigation initiated by the Hendek Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 7 suspects, including factory owners and managers, were summoned to the Hendek Courthouse on September 19 to provide statements. Detention orders were issued for 6 suspects whose statements were completed.
1 person was released after providing their statement. Of the 6 suspects who were taken through health checks and brought to the Hendek Courthouse on September 20, factory manager V.U. was arrested and sent to prison.
The factory owners, 1 occupational safety specialist, the mill supervisor, and the electrical maintenance specialist were released under judicial control conditions.
