President and AKP Chairman Erdoğan's remarks following yesterday's Cabinet Meeting in Çankaya, "If the Gazi's life had allowed him to lead the country for at least another 10 years, we would have seen a completely different Turkey," have become one of the most discussed topics in politics.

Journalist Fatih Altaylı, on his YouTube channel where he comments on the agenda, interpreted Erdoğan's words with the following expressions:

'I NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD AGREE WITH ERDOĞAN'

"It is not a lie. For someone with that vision, that power, and that intellectual capacity to lead Turkey for another 10 years would have been a huge change for Turkey.

Because when you look at it, if you start from 1922, from the İzmir Economic Congress, and begin with the economic development initiative, the time Atatürk led the country is 14-15 years. His last year was spent in the grip of illness.

If his health had not deteriorated and he had led for another 10 years, Turkey would have covered much more ground.

I never thought I would agree with something Erdoğan said. I agree with him on this point.

WHY DID ERDOĞAN SAY THESE WORDS?

Of course, Erdoğan is not saying this out of good intentions or because he wants Atatürk to have led the country for another 10 years; if you ask me, he is saying it as a jab against the CHP. He is saying it to point out that İnönü could not lead the country and that the CHP could not protect Atatürk's legacy. Is there any truth to it? No one is an Atatürk.

İsmet İnönü did not lead the country perfectly, but he did not leave the country at the mercy of others during a World War that burned and destroyed the whole world, and the world war that followed an international economic crisis.

If you ask me, the CHP and even the founding will of the Republic are paying the price for the hardships the people suffered during World War II.
