Fatih Altaylı's take on Serdar Ortaç and Mehmet Ali Erbil: 'Operations don't happen without them'

Journalist Fatih Altaylı made notable remarks while commenting on the agenda on his personal YouTube channel.

Altaylı commented on the investigation, in which 12 people were arrested and Serdar Ortaç and Mehmet Ali Erbil were placed under house arrest, with the following statements:

'THEY ARE BOTH FAMOUS FOR IT'

When it comes to gambling, when it comes to betting, what are these anyway? You know, a gambling operation doesn't happen without these people. Both of them are famous for this in Turkey—let's call them artists, I suppose.

Serdar Ortaç is a singer, the other is a theater actor, showman, and so on.

They were taken into custody and referred to the court with a request for arrest. What happened now, or rather, one of them had been referred. As I was coming to the program, the interrogation of the other was ongoing; I assume they will refer him in the same way, and there are others as well.

There is also Batuhan Karadeniz; we mentioned him here before. Batuhan Karadeniz already lives in Georgia, which is the source of illegal gambling in Turkey.

That's why I don't really think he will be caught. I don't know if there is an extradition treaty between Georgia and Turkey. I don't really think any arrest will come out of this from here.

Altaylı also stated that the tax loss from illegal betting is 80 billion TL.
