Final verdict in Narin murder case to be announced, but the killer remains unknown

CHP Diyarbakır Deputy Sezgin Tanrıkulu followed the judicial process in the ongoing trial regarding the murder of 8-year-old Narin Güran, who was killed in Diyarbakır.

In a statement made after the hearing, Tanrıkulu expressed that data capable of convincing the public regarding the identity of the perpetrator and the reasons behind the murder has not yet been obtained.

TRIAL CONTINUES

In the case heard at the Diyarbakır 8th High Criminal Court, Narin's mother Yüksel Güran, her uncle Salim Güran, her brother Enes Güran, and their neighbor Nevzat Bahtiyar, who carried Narin's body to the stream where it was found, are being tried for "intentional killing of a child in complicity," facing aggravated life imprisonment.

On the third day of the hearing, CHP Diyarbakır Deputy Tanrıkulu noted that the defenses and discussions of evidence have occasionally led to tensions. However, he emphasized that the trial is proceeding in a fair environment.

Tanrıkulu alleged that the evidence currently in the file was not presented in accordance with the law, and that there were instances of evidence tampering and negligence during the trial process. He stated that these negligences have prevented reaching definitive conclusions regarding the identities of the perpetrators and the motive for the murder.

Tanrıkulu said, "If those negligences had not occurred, we would not be talking about these things today. We could have had clear data regarding the identity of the perpetrator and why she was killed."

Stating that the trial process is ongoing, Tanrıkulu reported that the investigation into other individuals in the position of suspects continues. Tanrıkulu emphasized that justice must be served to uncover the truths behind the murder.
