A fire, allegedly caused by welding work, broke out around 16:00 at a 6-story school building under construction on Okul Street in the Güven neighborhood of Güngören. The flames grew rapidly and spread to the containers located in the construction area.

Seven containers exploded and were reduced to ashes as a result of the flames. Upon notification, numerous fire, police, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The fire was extinguished as a result of the extensive efforts of the fire crews. The incident caused fear and panic in the surrounding area. Cooling efforts by the teams in the region are ongoing.

"The fire continued with flames 7-8 meters high"

Stating that the fire broke out with a loud noise, local resident Aytekin Yenidoğan said, "When I went upstairs due to a loud noise and the smell of smoke, I saw that the fire had started. For about 10-15 minutes, the fire continued with explosions and flames reaching 7-8 meters in height. I called the fire department and the police, they directed me to 112, and the fire department arrived," he said.
