The fire occurred around 13:45 at a 5-story hotel located on Meşrutiyet Street in Beyoğlu. According to the information obtained, the fire originated from the electrical panel of the sauna located on the second basement floor of the hotel.

A few tourists staying at the hotel went outside in a panic. A tourist father staying on the 5th floor of the hotel wrapped his child in a blanket to protect them from smoke inhalation and brought them outside.
