A new development has been recorded in the murder case of 8-year-old Narin Güran, who was killed in Diyarbakır.

Nevzat Bahtiyar's lawyer, Ali Eryılmaz, has requested that his client be transferred to a different prison from the other detained defendants: mother Yüksel, brother Enes, and uncle Salim Güran.

Lawyer Ali Eryılmaz, who submitted the request to the Ministry of Justice, used the following expressions in a statement regarding the matter on his social media account:

"We have requested from the Ministry of Justice that Yüksel Güran, Enes Güran, and Salim Güran, who are still in detention due to the Narin Case, be urgently transferred to other prisons in different parts of the country for the reasons we have stated."

On the other hand, in recent days, Nevzat Bahtiyar's lawyers had appealed against his detention status. The appeal made against the decision given by the 8th High Criminal Court was evaluated by the higher court, the Diyarbakır 9th High Criminal Court.

The court panel evaluated the appeal made approximately 10 days ago and decided that the decision given by the 8th High Criminal Court was in accordance with procedure and law, thereby rejecting the appeal and ruling for the continuation of the detention of Nevzat Bahtiyar.

WHAT HAD HAPPENED?

A verdict was reached in the case of 8-year-old Narin Güran, who was a victim of murder in Diyarbakır, and the detained defendants, mother Yüksel, brother Enes, and uncle Salim Güran, were sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment.

Nevzat Bahtiyar, who was acquitted of the murder charge, had only received a prison sentence of 4 years and 6 months.
