Nizamettin Kabaiş, the father of 21-year-old university student Rojin Kabaiş, who was found dead on the beach of Molla Kasım Village on Lake Van 18 days after she went missing in Van, has spoken out.
'THERE WAS NO CAMERA, THERE WAS NO LIGHT'
Stating that the dormitory notified them late, Nizamettin Kabaiş said, “Rojin did not go to the dormitory for one night, and they called me the next day at a quarter to 12. They say, ‘Your child hasn't come.’ How would I know whether my child had arrived or not? There was no wire fence on the side, no camera, no light. The child had said, ‘I’m going to go collect some pebbles.’”
Father Kabaiş emphasized his suspicion that Rojin was murdered and made the following statement:
“My guess is that some thugs saw her there and harmed my child. I hope they find those who did this as soon as possible and give them the harshest punishment possible.
They should even execute them. What did they want from harmless little Rojin? Who did Rojin ever harm? Why did they do this? That child would not go 24 kilometers away alone at night.
I haven't seen that place. The lake next to the dormitory is not deep. If she had gone there, there would be no danger of drowning. Divers are going 50 kilometers out, and it’s still shallow.
Someone must have done something to my child. She would not go there alone. Even if she had entered the water there, she wouldn't have gone that far.
There is a brutality here. Someone must have done it. This is what I want from the state
Let them uncover those who committed this brutality as soon as possible. Let their punishment be execution
May no more Rojins be lost. Let’s put an end to this pain. What do they want from children, from women?”
