Ground intervention continues overnight for forest fire in Denizli

Teams are continuing to intervene overnight in the fire that broke out on Honaz Mountain in the Cankurtaran neighborhood of Denizli's Pamukkale district.

The fire, which is growing rapidly due to the wind, is moving toward the Cankurtaran neighborhood settlement and past the back of the mountain toward the Honaz district border.

Teams were dropped by helicopter onto the mountain's summit to intervene in the fire from the ground at night.

Reinforcement firefighting teams and water tenders from Konya, İzmir, Burdur, Isparta, and Manisa have been dispatched to support the efforts to combat the fire, which is difficult to reach due to the rugged and rocky terrain.

With nightfall, aerial intervention by planes and helicopters has been suspended, and the struggle against the fire continues with heavy machinery and ground crews.
