Pop singer Sinan Akçıl, whose name was mentioned for the AKP MKYK but who did not make the 75-person list, made a statement on his social media account. Stating that "my stance is clear," Akçıl said the following:
"Since last night, I have seen an 'extraordinary' amount of interest in your messages, along with some news that I also 'read from the media just like you.' I must say this; I am always at the service of my 'beautiful' country, and my stance has been clear for more than 10-15 years; this has not changed and cannot change. I wish the new congress, under the leadership of our esteemed President, to be beneficial to our country."
Veteran artist Yeşim Salkım reacted to these words from Akçıl. Saying, "I'm about to open my mouth, but I am staying silent out of respect for my profession!" Salkım said the following:
'SHOOT A VIDEO SO WE CAN SEE YOUR CONSCIENCE'
"We are not curious about the stage of someone whose backstage we know! Be a human for once and write something about the children dying in this country so we can understand that you truly have a heart!!! Do you feed off politics while composing? We just couldn't figure it out... People burned in hotels, children and women died; for once, come out and shoot a video so we can see your humanity and your conscience!
To be able to write about the Almighty God, one must truly believe in His greatness... I'm about to open my mouth, but I am staying silent out of respect for my profession!"
