Turkey was shaken in recent days by the brutality in Fatih, Istanbul.
According to a report by Ali Rıza Akbulut from Hürriyet, Semih Çelik, who previously lived in Fatih, moved to the 2nd floor of a 5-story building on a dead-end street in Eyüpsultan in 2018.
Regarding Semih Çelik, neighborhood residents said, "We would see his face every now and then, he wouldn't even say hello. He only came to his house here to sleep."
According to the neighborhood residents, on the day of the incident, Semih Çelik left his home, stopped by the bakery across the street, and while showing his clothes, asked, "How do I look, is it good?"
He then leaves. Uğur Yılmaz (49), who has been a real estate agent on Semih Çelik's street since he was born and raised, said, "Our neighborhood is like a village; everyone knows each other. However, we do not know him or his father. We saw them very rarely. We don't even know his mother at all; I think she lives in Ankara.
On the morning of the incident, he was talking to his father and told him, 'My girlfriend is coming over, we are going to have breakfast.'
His father is also leaving the house. Later we learned that the child had killed two people. We heard he was a butcher, but we don't know where,” he said.
