The incident occurred around 01:00 at night on the ground floor of a 3-story apartment building on Örnekköy Street in the Güzeloba neighborhood of the Muratpaşa district.
According to the information obtained, Hanım Biçer (30), who had moved into her new home about a week ago, arrived at her house with her ex-husband, Hızır Ç. (32).
A dispute between the two escalated into a fight. Hızır Ç. strangled his ex-wife with her headscarf and then covered her face with a pillow.
Hızır Ç. left the house about 3 hours later and disappeared.
16 hours after the incident, upon his call to his ex-wife's brother stating, "I killed my wife, I am going to turn myself in," police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene following the report.
SURRENDERED TO POLICE
Hızır Ç. went to the Döşemealtı Police Station and surrendered.
Teams from the Murder Bureau who arrived at the address found Hanım Biçer motionless inside the house. Medical teams confirmed that Biçer had lost her life.
On the other hand, it was learned that in his initial verbal statement, the murder suspect claimed that his ex-wife had threatened him by saying, "I will tell your family that we are seeing each other again," and demanded money, which led to an argument between them, after which he strangled her to death.
Biçer's body was taken to the Antalya Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for an autopsy following the examination by the Crime Scene Investigation teams and the prosecutor.
An investigation into the incident has been launched.
