Murat Gözde (48), who lives in the 2000 Evler neighborhood of the central Seyhan district, purchased a hair-darkening shampoo online last week on the recommendation of his barber due to the graying of his hair. Gözde claims that he first applied the shampoo to his elbow as instructed in the user manual, and after 48 hours passed without any reaction, he washed his hair and face with it.
Shortly after using the product, an allergic reaction occurred on Gözde's face. Gözde, whose eyes swelled up and who developed infected sores on his head, went to a local health center. Following a doctor's advice, Murat Gözde began using soothing creams.
"I WAS VERY AFRAID I WOULD LOSE MY EYES"
Even though 3 days had passed, the swelling and sores on his face did not subside, so Murat Gözde went to the police station and filed a complaint against the company. Describing his experience to the İhlas News Agency, Murat Gözde said, "I bought this product on the recommendation of my barber. I first applied it to my elbow, and 48 hours later, I applied it to my entire head. Then my face and eyes swelled up. Sores broke out on my head. My condition is very bad. I was very afraid I would lose my eyes. I will file a lawsuit for material and moral damages."
Stating that the gray hairs on his head did not even turn black, Gözde added, "I bought the shampoo online for 301 liras. Such products should not be so easily accessible; there should be a regulation on their sale."
