OCTOBER INFLATION DATA ANNOUNCED!

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) has announced the inflation figures for October. Monthly inflation increased by 2.88% in October, while annual inflation was recorded at 48.58%. According to Consumer Price Index (CPI) data, the CPI increased by 48.58% annually and 2.88% monthly in October 2024. The change in the CPI (2003=100) was recorded as 2.88% compared to the previous month, 39.77% compared to December of the previous year, 48.58% compared to the same month of the previous year, and 62.02% based on twelve-month averages.

3-MONTH INFLATION DIFFERENCE HAS BEEN DETERMINED!

Inflation figures play an important role in determining the inflation difference for civil servants, retired civil servants, and retirees under the Social Security Institution (SGK) and Bağ-Kur. With the inflation rate announced in September, the 3-month inflation data for civil servant salaries has also emerged. Speaking about the subject on a live broadcast on CNN Türk, Sworn-in Financial Advisor and Economist Muhammet Bayram stated, "There is a cumulative increase of 8.92% in 3-month inflation. If inflation comes in around 2.5% in the next 3 months, a 6-month inflation difference of around 16-17% will occur."

CIVIL SERVANT SALARIES WILL BE RAISED IN JANUARY 2025

Civil servant salaries and the pensions of retired civil servants will be increased by 6% in the first 6 months of 2025 and by 5% in the second 6 months. However, these raise rates will be applied if they remain below inflation.

HOW MUCH WILL THE CIVIL SERVANT SALARY RAISE BE?

The raise rates for civil servant salaries for 2025 have been determined as follows: A 6% raise will be applied for the first 6 months and a 5% raise for the second 6 months. However, for these rates to be applied, inflation must not exceed these figures. If inflation remains below these raise rates, the civil servant salary raise will be valid.
