HOW TO APPLY FOR MILITARY SERVICE DEFERRAL VIA E-GOVERNMENT IN 2024?
Candidates who are unable to perform their military service for various reasons can postpone their duties for a certain period through deferral procedures.
The deferral process is carried out via the "Ministry of National Defense Recruitment Application" page on e-Government. Alternatively, the process can also be completed by visiting a recruitment office.

HOW LONG CAN HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES DEFER MILITARY SERVICE?
Military conscripts who have graduated from a high school or equivalent educational institution can defer their military service for 3 years without needing to provide a specific reason.
To ensure they are not classified as draft evaders and to properly defer their service, these individuals must visit a military recruitment office and submit the necessary documents for deferral to the relevant unit.
HOW LONG CAN UNIVERSITY, MASTER'S, AND DOCTORAL STUDENTS DEFER MILITARY SERVICE?
The military service deferral period for university graduates is set at 2 years. Master's and doctoral students, or those interning at a workplace to gain professional experience, can defer their military service for 1 year, provided they do not exceed the upper age limit of 35.
MINISTRY OF NATIONAL DEFENSE ANNOUNCES RECRUITMENT ARTICLES FOR 2024
1. In accordance with the Recruitment Law No. 7179, the procedures to be followed by conscripts subject to recruitment in 2024 and the recruitment activities to be implemented are explained in the following articles.
2. In 2024;
a. Those born in 2005 who will reach military age on January 1, 2024, and who do not have a legal right to deferment,
b. Those whose deferments under the Recruitment Law No. 7179 will expire within 2024,
c. Those who have undergone recruitment checks in 2022 (inclusive) or earlier but have used their right to deferment (excluding those deferred after classification) and whose deferments will expire within 2024,
must complete their recruitment checks between January 1 and December 31, 2024.
3. Additionally, those born in 2005 or earlier who wish to be enlisted without using their right to deferment, despite being eligible, or who wish to be enlisted within their deferment period, must also undergo their recruitment checks.
4. Conscripts must apply via e-Government or in person at the nearest military recruitment office to complete their recruitment checks.
5. Conscripts can initiate their recruitment procedures via e-Government by entering the "My Military Service" link under the "MSB" tab within the "Personal Information" sub-menu under the "e-Services" menu at www.turkiye.gov.tr. After uploading their passport-sized photos and filling out the necessary forms, conscripts will apply to their registered family physicians to undergo their health examinations.
6. Conscripts who will complete their recruitment checks through a military recruitment office must bring their T.C. ID cards, and if applicable, their graduation certificate, driver's license, professional or vocational certificates, diplomas, course certificates, and reports regarding their health status.
7. Conscripts residing abroad will complete their recruitment checks by applying to our foreign missions in the country where they are located or to the nearest military recruitment office within Turkey.
8. Conscripts who graduate from high school or higher-level schools in 2024 and wish to use their right to deferment must apply to the nearest military recruitment office or via e-Government with their petition and graduation or discharge documents by December 31, 2024.
9. Penal sanctions will be applied in accordance with Article 24 of the Recruitment Law No. 7179 to those subject to recruitment who do not complete their procedures by December 31, 2024.
10. This announcement serves as a notification to conscripts in accordance with Article 27 of the Recruitment Law No. 7179.
