The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) reported that the number of housing sales in 2024 increased by 20.6 percent compared to the previous year. According to TÜİK's statement, the number of housing sales in 2024 was 1 million 478 thousand 25.
According to the data released by TÜİK, the number of housing sales across Turkey last month was recorded as 212 thousand 637, an increase of 53.4 percent compared to the same month of the previous year.
In the January-December 2024 period, sales increased by 20.6 percent compared to the same period of the previous year, reaching 1 million 478 thousand 25.
Istanbul was recorded as the province with the highest share in housing sales last year with 239 thousand 213. This was followed by Ankara with 134 thousand 46 and İzmir with 80 thousand 398.
The provinces with the lowest number of housing sales in 2024 were listed as Ardahan with 755, Hakkari with 958, and Bayburt with 998.
