Inspection firm official detained in Kartalkaya fire investigation

The investigation into the fire at the Grand Kartal Hotel, located at the Bolu Kartalkaya Ski Center, continues. As part of the investigation into the fire, which became a grave for 78 people, audit firm official Ali A. was detained in Istanbul.

Within the scope of the investigation initiated by the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Ali A., an official from FQC Global Danışmanlık A.Ş., was detained.

Ali A., who was detained in Istanbul, has been brought to Bolu. It was reported that processing at the Provincial Gendarmerie Command is ongoing.

Grand Kartal Hotel owner Halit Ergül had made a claim regarding the company in his statement to the prosecutor's office. Ergül had stated, "We sign a contract with FQC Global Danışmanlık A.Ş. every year for auditing purposes. This company comes at least every 2 years to inspect the hotel in terms of fire, security, hygiene, and every other aspect."

As part of the investigation, 19 suspects, including Bolu Deputy Mayor Sedat Gülener, Acting Fire Chief Kenan Coşkun, Grand Kartal Hotel owner Halit Ergül, the company's general manager Emir Aras, hotel manager Zeki Yılmaz, and Gazelle Hotel General Manager Ahmet Demir, were arrested, while 7 others were released, 6 of them under judicial control conditions.
