Investigation launched into helicopter crash in Muğla

The repercussions continue following the crash in Muğla, where an air ambulance helicopter struck the Muğla Training and Research Hospital and fell, resulting in the deaths of 2 pilots, 1 doctor, and 1 medical staff member.

Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu went to the scene of the incident to conduct inspections.

Memişoğlu made a statement following his inspections. In the statement, he said that the air ambulance helicopter, which serves under the ministry, took off from an open area at 10:07 AM to head to Antalya.

 

Explaining that the helicopter struck the hospital building with its tail section 45-50 seconds after takeoff and fell into an empty field, Memişoğlu stated that the pilots Bayram Çiçek and Tamer Gönül, Dr. Cengiz Çoşkun, and emergency medical technician Selçuk Saykal, who were on duty in the crashed helicopter, lost their lives at the scene.

Minister Memişoğlu used the following expressions in his statement:

"May our nation have our condolences. A judicial and administrative investigation has been launched into the incident by the prosecutor's office, our ministry, and the Ministry of Transport. The results of the investigations will be shared with the public. May God not show us such pain again. May God not let us experience such accidents. Currently, the judicial process is continuing under the supervision of our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office."
