Istanbul residents will get their fill of art: Events taking place in Istanbul between June 14-16

UPCOMING CONCERTS

-Singer Nazan Öncel will meet her fans at the Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theater on June 16.

-The "Levante" concert, featuring narration by İlber Ortaylı and arrangements by Mert Süngü, will be held at the CRR on June 13. In the concert, where works telling Anatolian stories will be performed, Lorenzo Gugale will be on stage with the violin, Fabiano Merlante with the lute, Coşkun Karademir with the bağlama and kopuz, Cenk Erdoğan with the fretless guitar, and Burcu Karadağ with the ney.

-Frankey & Sandrino, who hold an important place in the electronic house music genre with tracks such as “Acamar”, “Wega”, and “Ways of the Sun”, will perform at The Roof at The Ritz-Carlton Istanbul on June 15.

MOVIES HITTING THEATERS

Daha İyi Bir Yarın (A Better Tomorrow): Starring Hande Doğandemir, Yağızcan Konyalı, and Nur Fettahoğlu, "Daha İyi Bir Yarın" is set to meet audiences.

Veda Partisi (Farewell Party): Directed by Ufuk Cebeci, "Veda Partisi" follows the events that unfold during a bachelorette party organized by Yonca, the wife of a political party leader, for her close friends.

Sekiz1 (Eight1): Directed by Vural Eyikan and starring Enes Kurt, Sinan Çelik, and Cihan Dönmez, "Sekiz1" is a candidate to attract the interest of local action movie fans.

Kötü Oyuncu (Bad Actor): Directed by Jorge Cuchi, "Kötü Oyuncu" focuses on the experiences of an actor who faces accusations from his co-star during a film shoot.

Siccin 7: Directed by Alper Mestçi, the latest installment of the local horror series, "Siccin 7," depicts the terrifying days experienced by a man fleeing the mafia and his family after they settle into a mansion.

Ters Yüz 2 (Inside Out 2): Directed by Kelsey Mann, the second film of the beloved US-produced animation Inside Out, "Ters Yüz 2," returns to the mind of Riley, who is now a teenager.

ONGOING EXHIBITIONS

-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson's first solo exhibition in Turkey, "Your unexpected encounter," which opened at Istanbul Modern, will be open to art enthusiasts until February 9, 2025.

-The first exhibition of the 10th anniversary of the İstanbul Photo Awards, an international news photography contest organized by Anadolu Agency, which opened today at Rami Library, can be visited until June 23.

-The exhibitions "Art Knotted with Love: Turkish Carpets" and "Ottoman Period Syrian and Lebanese Textiles," which opened on June 8 at the Museum of Turkish and Islamic Arts, await visitors until August 23.

-The "Dome: Palestine Time Tunnel" exhibition, prepared by the Yedi Hilal Association to raise awareness about the events in Gaza, will host visitors at the Üsküdar Mimar Sinan Gallery until June 21.

-The "Traditional Arts and Crafts Year-End Mixed Exhibition," which opened in Esenler, will be open to art enthusiasts until June 30.

-The "Woven Treasures: Carpets and Fabrics from the Ottoman Palace" exhibition, which met with visitors on June 6 at the Dolmabahçe Palace Art Gallery, will be open for visits for 1 month.

THEATER EVENTS

Tartuffe: Telling the story of a wealthy man who, ignoring everyone in his family and circle, invites a hypocritical religious zealot into his home and makes both his own life and the lives of those around him miserable, Tartuffe will meet the audience on Friday, June 14, at 21:00 at the Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theater.

The play titled "Acaibü'l Temaşa" will be performed on June 14 at the Üsküdar Tekel Stage.

"Frankenstein 32 Kısım Tekmili Birden" will be at the Mecidiyeköy Studio Stage until June 14.
