Man kills wife during divorce proceedings, then commits suicide
In Karaman, a husband who strangled his wife, a mother of two, during divorce proceedings, has committed suicide.

The incident occurred at approximately 11:00 PMon 202nd Street in the Valide Sultan neighborhood, inside an apartment on the top floor of a 5-storybuilding.
According to the information obtained,after her family had not heard from Fatma Çetinkaya (22) sincethe afternoon, they went to the police station to file a missing person report.
Following the report, police teams launched an investigationand went to the home of the woman's husband, Mithat Çetinkaya (24),who was in the process of divorcing her.
Entering the home with the help of the fire department, the teams found the lifeless bodies of the two individuals. As a result of the investigation, it was determined that Mithat Çetinkaya had strangled his wife to death before hanging himself. Fatma Çetinkaya's mother, who arrived after hearing the news, suffered a breakdown upon learning that her daughter had died.
Following this, medicalteams were dispatched to the address. Numerous police teamsthat arrived at the scene also tooksecurity measures on the street where the incident took place..
Following the investigation by the Public Prosecutor and the crime scene investigation team, the bodies of the deceased husband and wife were taken to the Karaman Training and Research Hospitalmorgue for autopsies.
Meanwhile, it was alleged that Mithat Çetinkayahad lured his wife, who had left the home to stay with her own family, back to the house under the pretext of meetingwithalawyer.The investigationinto the incident is ongoing.
