Meteorology announces: Heavy rain is coming!

The General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM) has published its latest weather forecast report. According to the report, the country will generally be partly to mostly cloudy, with precipitation expected in the eastern Marmara region, the Aegean, the Mediterranean, Central Anatolia, the Western Black Sea, the inland parts of the Central Black Sea, as well as the surroundings of Balıkesir, Samsun, Gaziantep, and Kilis, and the southern parts of Çanakkale.

HEAVY RAIN WARNING 

According to the latest assessments, heavy (21-50 kg/m2) and locally very heavy (over 51-75 kg/m2) rainfall is expected in the vicinity of Antalya. Citizens should be cautious and take precautions against potential negative impacts such as flash floods, flooding, lightning, landslides, transportation disruptions, and strong winds during rainfall.

STRONG WIND WARNING

As the wind is expected to blow strongly (40-70 km/h) from easterly directions along the coast of Hatay, it is necessary to be cautious and take precautions against potential negative consequences.

WARNING FOR ICING, FROST, AND AVALANCHE RISK

Due to the risk of avalanches on the steep and sloped hillsides in the high inland parts of the Eastern Black Sea and the eastern parts of Eastern Anatolia, as well as expected icing and frost in the eastern parts of the country, it is necessary to be cautious and take precautions against potential transportation disruptions.

A yellow code means that the weather conditions are potentially dangerous. While the forecasted meteorological event is not unusual, caution should be exercised regarding activities that may be affected by meteorological conditions.
