The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has announced that the contents of certain food products are in violation of regulations in its updated list of imitation and adulteration.
The Ministry has meticulously inspected products that could threaten public health and disclosed to the public those that do not match their label declarations. Companies, including Eker Süt Ürünleri, were included in this list.
EKER SÜT ÜRÜNLERİ EXPOSED WITH ITS "FULL-FAT" CHEESE
In the inspection conducted by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, a serious violation was detected in the "Eker Full-Fat White Cheese (1000 g)" product produced in the Mustafakemalpaşa district of Bursa.
Despite the "full-fat" statement on the product, analyses showed that the product's fat content remained below legal limits. The Ministry included Eker in the list of products subject to imitation and adulteration due to this incorrect labeling and content.
During the Ministry's inspections, not only fat ratios but also the production techniques of the products were carefully examined.
The use of "melting salt" was detected in the full-fat fresh kashar cheese belonging to Balıkesir-based Özışık Süt Ürünleri. According to regulations, cheeses containing melting salt must be labeled as "processed cheese" and should not be sold under the name "kashar cheese."
Due to this irregularity, the company was recorded as having committed food fraud.

Reactions to the products on the imitation and adulteration list have grown on social media.
Users criticized the misleading nature of the contents of products labeled "full-fat," stating that there is a loss of trust.
Furthermore, comments suggesting that consumers are being misinformed and that food inspections should be increased have drawn attention on social media platforms.
