Ministry of Finance announces tax evaders: Cem Uzan is on the list! Here is Cem Uzan's tax debt
The Revenue Administration of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance has published the list of taxpayers with tax and penalty debts exceeding 5 million TL. One name on the list caused a shock. It was noted that Cem Uzan, who once gave away Pringles with the Star newspaper, bought Istanbulspor, and founded Telsim, is also on the list.

The Revenue Administration of the Ministry of Treasury and Finance published the list of taxpayers with tax and penalty debts exceeding 5 million TL.
In a statement by the Revenue Administration, it was noted that under Article 5 of Tax Procedure Law No. 213, the Ministry of Treasury and Finance is authorized to disclose taxes and penalties arising from supplementary, ex officio or administrative assessments, as well as taxes and penalties that remain unpaid despite being overdue.
The statement said that, within the scope of this authority, the matters concerning the disclosure to be made in 2024 were determined in the General Communiqué on Tax Procedure Law Serial No. 564.
Accordingly, taxes and penalties finalized due to supplementary, ex officio or administrative assessments and whose total amount is 5 million TL or more (I-A), and taxes and penalties that were due as of December 31, 2023 but had not been paid as of September 30, 2024 and whose total amount is over 5 million TL (I-B), were included in the disclosure.
One name on the list drew attention.
Cem Uzan was also listed in 39th place with a debt of 907 million liras.
Uzan had founded Turkey's first private television channel and drew attention with his media investments.
Many gifts had been distributed with coupons from Star newspaper.
Citizens were introduced to Pringles chips through Star newspaper.
Uzan also founded the Young Party and failed to pass the threshold in the 2002 elections.
