The incident occurred on May 29. D.O., who lives in Istanbul, came to the Bodrum home of her husband A.U., who is in the process of divorcing her. It was alleged that the couple, who stayed in the same house for a few days, argued from time to time, and that during this process, D.O. behaved harshly toward the baby.
Father A.U. went to the Bodrum Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on May 31 and filed a complaint against his wife.
In his statement, A.U. claimed that his wife's behavior was inconsistent, and that she would occasionally bite and slap the child. D.O., who was taken into custody, admitted in her statement that she did not bite the child's hand, but that she did hit the child's face and mouth.
While a medical report was obtained regarding the signs of battery on the baby's body, it was decided that the child would be temporarily handed over to the father. Upon the instruction of the prosecutor's office, an official report was requested to determine whether D.O.'s mental health is sound. Meanwhile, the moments of violence were captured on security cameras.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
