With only days left until the Minimum Wage Determination Commission meets, figures for the minimum wage have begun to be discussed.
The first figure to be presented to the commission will be inflation.
While the year-end inflation figure is projected at 41.5 percent in the Medium-Term Program (MTP), it is calculated that the net minimum wage would be 24 thousand 57 TL based on this data.
However, the Central Bank revised its year-end inflation forecasts upward in its latest inflation report. The lower limit was set at 42 percent and the upper limit at 46 percent.
According to a report by Faruk Erdem from Sabah newspaper, if a raise rate is determined by taking annual inflation into account, as has been done with previous raises, the calculations without adding extra points would be as follows:
IF MINIMUM WAGE CALCULATION INCREASES BY 41.5 PERCENT ACCORDING TO MTP FORECAST
Gross wage: 28,303 TL - Net wage: 24,058 TL - Cost to employer: 33,257 TL
IF MINIMUM WAGE CALCULATION INCREASES BY 42 PERCENT, THE CBRT LOWER LIMIT
Gross wage: 28,403 TL - Net wage: 24,143 TL - Cost to employer: 33,374 TL
IF MINIMUM WAGE CALCULATION INCREASES BY 44 PERCENT, THE CBRT FORECAST
Gross wage: 28,803 TL - Net wage: 24,483 TL - Cost to employer: 33,844 TL
IF MINIMUM WAGE CALCULATION INCREASES BY 46 PERCENT, THE CBRT UPPER LIMIT
Gross wage: 29,203 TL - Net wage: 24,823 TL - Cost to employer: 34,314 TL
