Earth scientist Prof. Dr. Naci Görür made statements regarding the regions in Turkey with the most imminent earthquake risk.
Speaking during a live broadcast on NTV, Görür drew attention to the Yedisu Fault between Karlıova and Erzincan.
Görür stated, "An earthquake occurred in the southern parts between the Yeşilyurt-Malatya fault. The East Anatolian Fault and the faults in Kahramanmaraş, including Hatay, have largely ruptured. The released energy was injected into Malatya."
Stating that the fault could produce an earthquake with a magnitude above 7, Görür said, "Construction is not being carried out in accordance with regulations and is not being inspected."
