New development in the Narin case: Was her ID in the sack?

Diyarbakır Bar Association President Nahit Eren made statements on social media regarding the murder of Narin Güran.

Stating that public interest is important for clarifying the incident but that the accuracy of shared information must be verified, Eren denied the report that "Narin's identity was found in a sack."

Making a statement via X, Eren said, "Narin's identification was handed over to the investigation prosecutors by Narin's brother, Baran, who came to the Forensic Medicine Institute on the night the autopsy was performed. It was not in a bag as alleged."

Eren's statement is as follows:

"We are following the Narin investigation process with great diligence. The commission established by our Bar Association is continuing its work with care.

We are aware of the public's rightful expectation that the perpetrator(s) receive the punishment they deserve as soon as possible.

With this expectation, we find the interest of the public and the press in the file to be very valuable and important in terms of the investigation process. However, I would also like to state that this and similar information, which is not true and is being shared in many places, will not be of any benefit to the investigation process. 

Narin's identification was handed over to the investigating prosecutors by her brother, Baran, who arrived at the Forensic Medicine Institute on the night the autopsy was performed.

It was not in a bag as alleged. We occasionally feel the need to correct this and similar misinformation to ensure accurate reporting.

As I have stated before, we will continue to demand JUSTICE for NARİN and fight for it with great determination."
