New era at ATMs: 'Only 200 TL banknotes will be available'
High inflation is leading to the reduced use of smaller denomination currency in the market and a greater preference for larger banknotes such as the 200 TL note. This situation has also triggered the start of new practices at ATMs.

High inflation reduces the purchasing power of money, lowering the value of the cash in citizens' pockets. This situation leads to less use of small amounts in the market and a preference for larger banknotes in bank ATMs.
The replacement of small banknotes, particularly 5, 10, and 20 TL notes, with 50 and 100 TL banknotes is seen as a reflection of the impact of inflation on daily life.
Banks are tending to stock ATMs with higher-denomination banknotes. In this context, Prof. Dr. Şenol Babuşcu, former Deputy General Manager of Ziraat Bank, announced the new era for ATMs on his social media account.
Babuşcu stated the following:
"After 5, 10, and 20 TL notes, banks have also started to stop putting 50 TL banknotes into ATMs.
Some banks are also carrying out efforts to stop putting 100 TL banknotes into ATMs.
"Soon, ATMs will only contain 200 TL banknotes."
