A new era for international departure taxes begins on January 1. According to the new decision, the era of paying with stamps is being left behind. Starting January 1, tax payments will be carried out through digital channels.
According to the report on NTV, in addition to the change in the payment method, the international departure tax will also increase from 500 liras to 720 liras in the new year.
Departure tax stamps purchased at the 500 TL rate, which is valid as of the end of 2024, will remain valid until January 10.
The international departure tax can be paid via the digital tax office, GİB Mobile, contracted banks (internet banking, mobile banking, counters, and ATMs), tax offices, and airport counters.
Payments made electronically can be verified through the system, and once the departure is made, the tax amount will be processed into the system as used.
