New fare for teachers on November 24! Will transportation be free?

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that, due to November 24 Teachers' Day, a 50 percent discount on full ticket prices will be applied for teachers on High-Speed Trains and mainline trains between November 24 and 30.

Minister Uraloğlu stated, "Within the scope of the campaign, which will be valid for ticket purchases between November 24 and 30, teachers will be able to purchase their tickets for YHT and mainline trains at half price."

Reminding that TCDD Taşımacılık AŞ provides a 15 percent discount to teachers throughout the year, Minister Uraloğlu said, "Between 2017 and 2024, 3 million 57 thousand 447 of our teachers benefited from the teacher discount on YHT, mainline, and regional trains. In the first 10 months of 2024, 547 thousand 324 of our teachers traveled with a discount, while 50 thousand 764 of our teachers have benefited from the 50 percent discount specially offered for Teachers' Week since the application began in 2013."

Minister Uraloğlu added, "All teachers, including principals and vice-principals currently working in public and private schools of all levels and types affiliated with or approved by the Ministry of National Education, academic staff working in all higher education institutions including application and research centers, and Turkish nationals working in foreign countries will benefit from this application."

DISCOUNTED TICKETS WILL BE EASILY OBTAINABLE

Stating that presenting teacher identification documents will be sufficient to benefit from the discount application, Minister Uraloğlu said, "The sale of campaign tickets, which are valid for YHT and mainline trains to be purchased between November 24 and 30, will be carried out through all TCDD Taşımacılık AŞ ticket offices, the internet, mobile applications, the call center, and agencies."
