According to the hunger threshold data announced by TÜRK-İŞ, there is a difference of 1,021 liras between the 22,104 lira figure. According to TÜRK-İŞ data, the hunger threshold in December was 21,083 TL. The hunger threshold remained only 1,021 liras less than the 22,104 lira minimum wage.
WHAT IS THE POVERTY THRESHOLD FOR A FAMILY OF 4?
TÜRK-İŞ announced the poverty threshold for a family of four as 68,675 TL. The increase in the minimum expenditure amount that a family of four living in Ankara must make "for food" was 2.54 percent compared to the previous month. The 12-month change rate was 46.09 percent. The annual average increase was 62.35 percent.

According to the December 2024 results of this research, which has been conducted regularly every month for 38 years without interruption by the TÜRK-İŞ Confederation to reveal the living conditions of employees and to determine the reflections of price changes in basic necessities on the family budget;
The monthly food expenditure amount (hunger threshold) required for a family of four living in Ankara to have a healthy, balanced, and adequate diet is 21,083.28 TL,
The total amount of other monthly expenditures mandatory for food expenditure as well as clothing, housing (rent, electricity, water, fuel), transportation, education, health, and similar needs (poverty threshold) is 68,675.17 TL,
MONTHLY EXPENDITURE OF A SINGLE EMPLOYEE IS 27 THOUSAND TL
The 'cost of living' for a single employee has also risen to 27,364.71 TL per month.
FOOD INFLATION INCREASED BY 62.35 PERCENT IN ONE YEAR
