WHO IS NASUH MAHRUKİ?
Nasuh Mahruki was born on May 21, 1968, in Istanbul.
After graduating from Şişli Terakki High School, he graduated from the Faculty of Business Administration at Bilkent University in 1992.
He was introduced to mountaineering in 1988 through the Bilkent University Nature Sports Society. He served as the president of the society for three years.
Between 1992 and 1994, he climbed five mountains over 7,000 meters located within the former borders of the Soviet Union, earning the title of Snow Leopard.
In 1995, he became the first Turkish person and the first Muslim mountaineer in the world to climb Mount Everest. In 1996, he became the 45th athlete and the youngest to complete the Seven Summits project by climbing the highest mountain on each of the seven continents.
In the following years, he carried out many challenging climbs.
The most important of these are the Cho Oyu, Lhotse, and K2 mountains, which he climbed without supplemental oxygen. He climbed Mount Everest once again after a 15-year hiatus.
He organizes motivational speeches and seminars on topics such as leadership, teamwork, personal development, self-awareness, goal orientation, determination, discipline, and risk management, and he has taught a "Teamwork and Leadership" course at Bahçeşehir University.
He has worked as a columnist for various newspapers and magazines and has produced documentary programs for various television channels.
He is a founding member of AKUT. While serving as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of AKUT, Mahruki resigned from his position as Chairman and Board Member on November 28, 2016, and in 2019, he also resigned from his position as Honorary President of AKUT.
Nasuh Mahruki, who married Mine Mahruki in a traditional wedding ceremony during a motorcycle trip to the Kingdom of Bhutan in the Himalayas, is the father of two children named Barlas and Bilge.

National athlete and AKUT founder Nasuh Mahruki announced on his social media account that his home had been raided by police. In his post, Nasuh Mahruki stated, "I am having dinner with a group of friends at a kebab restaurant this evening. Police, who said they were police officers in plain clothes, came to my home and said they had come to take me. I am now leaving the restaurant and heading home. Please be informed, please follow the process." While there was curiosity about whether Nasuh Mahruki had been detained, a statement came from Mahruki.
Speaking to Cumhuriyet after the incident, Mahruki said, "I believe this attempt to detain me happened because of my post regarding the Supreme Election Council (YSK). I do not trust the YSK, and I think there will be one last attempt to help the government win the election through fraud and manipulation. I believe this incident happened because I exercised my constitutional right as a citizen to express my concern."
