The lack of cleaning staff in areas providing care for the disabled, the elderly, and children had become a trending topic on social media. Parents, who drew attention to the absence of cleaning staff especially with the opening of schools, had tried to ensure school hygiene themselves for a while.
An attempt was made to solve the cleaning crisis experienced due to the lack of sufficient personnel in schools through the 'Labor Force Adaptation Program.'
It was aimed to fix the hygiene problem with supplementary personnel.
WAGES WERE LOW
According to the program, it was decided to pay personnel who would work three days a week a daily minimum wage of 566 liras under the name of 'pocket money.'
However, it was stated that there were not enough applications for the program both in schools and in other institutions on the grounds that the wage was very low.
IT WAS DECIDED TO MAKE PAYMENTS ABOVE THE MINIMUM WAGE
With the regulation change published in the Official Gazette, it was decided to make payments above the daily minimum wage to those who will work within the scope of the program.
According to the new regulation, it was stipulated that the payment would not exceed 1.25 times the daily minimum wage. Thus, the amount to be paid under the name of pocket money was increased to 833 liras.
