Record decline in KKM continues
While the KKM balance experienced its fastest weekly decline, loan volume showed an increase. Total deposits were observed to have decreased significantly.

According to the weekly bulletin of the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BDDK), the KKM (FX-protected deposit) balance decreased by 3.7 percent, or 67 billion 719 million liras, last week, falling to 1 trillion 764.3 billion liras.
This marked the fastest decline of all time on a weekly proportional basis.
The banking sector's loan volume increased by 138 billion 169 million liras in the week of August 2, reaching 14 trillion 138 billion 532 million liras.
During the period in question, the loan volume increased from 14 trillion 363 million liras to 14 trillion 138 billion 532 million liras.
Total deposits in the banking sector, including interbank deposits, decreased by 148 billion 385 million liras last week, falling to 16 trillion 783 billion 210 million liras.
