Retirees were waiting for this news: Bank promotions have been increased!

Following the raise in retirement pensions, the competition for promotions among banks has accelerated. According to the figures announced on July 3, the new raise rate for retirees was 16.67 percent.

The government, which reflected the aforementioned amount onto the lowest retirement pension in the same way, announced that the base salary, which is currently 14,469 Turkish Lira, will be increased to 16,681 TL. With the increase in the announced lowest retirement pension, the retirement promotion fees in the protocol signed between the Social Security Institution (SGK) and 19 banks in March 2024 have also been automatically changed.

PROMOTIONS WILL BE INCREASED

While many private banks have made changes to their retirement promotion campaigns over the past year, the promotion amount continues to be determined based on the retirees' salaries in the currently used system.

The retirement salary thresholds, which were set by banks as 10, 15, and 20 thousand TL for promotion amounts in previous years, will be directly increased in July for 5 million retirees with the raising of the lowest retirement pension. Approximately 4 million people who previously received a retirement pension below 15 thousand liras will be entitled to receive the new promotion fee difference if they apply to their banks after their retirement pensions are deposited between July 17-26.
