Roman-era traffic signs discovered

Historical artifacts unearthed during excavations at the Hattusa archaeological site in Boğazkale and its surrounding areas are being exhibited at the Boğazkale Museum.
Eight Roman milestones unearthed during various excavations are also on display for visitors in the representative Roman road section in the museum garden.
8 CYLINDRICAL ROMAN MILESTONES
Boğazkale Museum Director Resul İbiş stated that he was astonished when he learned the true function of the 8 cylindrical Roman milestones.
Stating that the Roman milestones date back to the 1st to 3rd centuries AD, İbiş explained that the Latin inscriptions on the stones feature the names of the emperors who commissioned the roads and the governors who served in the region.
