She was fighting for custody: Baby Sıla's aunt has passed away
Elif Akyüz, the aunt of 2-year-old baby Sıla, who was sexually abused and died as a result of physical assault in Tekirdağ, has lost her life after falling from the balcony of their third-floor apartment. An investigation into the incident has been launched.

Elif Akyüz (27), who lived in the Altınova neighborhood of Tekirdağ, fell from the balcony of their home on the 3rd floor of a 5-story apartment building for reasons yet to be determined.
Upon reports of a fall from height, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Medical personnel determined that Akyüz had lost her life at the scene.
INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED
Elif Akyüz's body was taken to the Tekirdağ Forensic Medicine Institute for an autopsy following the necessary examinations. While the cause of the incident is not yet known, police teams have launched a comprehensive investigation.
Akyüz’s niece, 2-year-old Sıla Y., had been hospitalized on September 8 after being subjected to sexual abuse and battery. Baby Sıla, who was receiving treatment in the intensive care unit, passed away on October 7.

Prior to the incident, Elif Akyüz had filed a lawsuit at the Tekirdağ 4th Family Court to gain custody of Sıla and her 5-year-old sister.
