The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) has predicted that snowfall is expected in the city on February 5-6.
In the statement made by AKOM, it was reported that according to the weekly weather forecast report, the city is expected to come under the influence of a cold air wave of Siberian origin starting from Monday, February 3.
Noting that temperatures in Istanbul will drop by 5 - 10°C starting from Tuesday, the statement expressed that snowfall is expected on Wednesday, February 5, and Thursday, February 6.
According to the statement, snowfall of up to 2-5 centimeters on Wednesday and 3-10 centimeters on Thursday may be seen.
