How much of a raise will retirees receive in 2025? The Minimum Wage Determination Commission, which met suddenly last Tuesday, set the minimum wage for the new year at 22,104 liras. Citizens, whose salaries have been eroded by inflation, expressed their grievances regarding this raise rate on social media.
While minimum wage earners are not satisfied with the 2025 raise rate, all eyes have turned to the retiree and civil servant raises that will be determined in January. The 6-month inflation difference will be announced along with the inflation rate that the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) will release on January 3.
CRITICAL POINT FOR CIVIL SERVANT RETIREES: COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT
SGK expert Murat Bal spoke to ATV Haber about the lowest pension. Bal said, "For civil servant retirees, the critical point is the collective bargaining agreement. The 6-month inflation difference will be added on top of the collective bargaining agreement again."
HOW MUCH WILL SALARIES BE WITHOUT A WELFARE SHARE?
Noting that they estimate the raise rate will be around 13 percent, Bal said:
"We anticipate that the lowest civil servant pension of 17,587 will reach the level of 20,225.
Those at 20,000 liras will rise to 23,000 liras;
Those at 25,000 liras will rise to 28,750 liras;
Those at 30,000 liras will rise to 34,500 liras;
Those at 35,000 liras will rise to 40,250 liras.
These are the figures we calculated without a welfare share"
Estimates are coming one after another, but the eyes and ears of retirees are on the welfare share"
Pointing to the welfare share, Bal noted the following:
"These figures are definitely guaranteed. Any welfare share to be added on top of this will be announced separately by our President"
