Father who killed his son gives police statement: 'I couldn't save him'
In Adana, a father who killed his son, who was allegedly addicted to drugs, reportedly said in his police statement, "I couldn't save my son from the quagmire of drugs and gambling. I am very regretful; I wish it hadn't ended this way." The father was arrested by the court and sent to prison.

The incident occurred on June 3 in Gültepe Neighborhood, Elif Su Uludağ Street, in the Sarıçam district. According to allegations, 23-year-old A.K.K., who was a drug addict, asked his retired police officer father, 52-year-old F.K., for money. When father F.K. refused to give him money, A.K.K. attacked his father with a knife he had with him.
Following this, F.K. opened fire on his son with his handgun. A.K.K. was struck in various parts of his body by bullets fired from F.K.'s weapon—who allegedly continued firing until the magazine was empty—and collapsed to the ground.
After the incident, F.K. called the 112 Emergency Call Center and reported the situation to the police. The moment of the incident was captured on a mobile phone. Upon notification, teams dispatched to the area determined that A.K.K. had lost his life.
F.K., who waited by his son's side until police teams arrived, was taken into custody and brought to the police station. The suspect was handed over to the Homicide Bureau teams for processing.
"He went missing in a forest fire last year"
On the other hand, it was learned that the deceased A.K.K. was a forest worker. It emerged that A.K.K. had gone missing during efforts to combat a forest fire that broke out in the Kozan district on August 8 last year. Teams had mobilized for the search efforts for the young worker who went missing in the fire zone, and after approximately 10 hours of work, A.K.K. was found alive and taken to the hospital. Following the funeral prayer, A.K.K.'s body was buried in the Kozan Asri Cemetery.
"I couldn't save him from drugs and gambling"
In his interrogation at the police station, F.K. reportedly said, "My son was a drug addict and also had gambling debts. He asked for money, and when I didn't give it, we argued. I tried to stop him, but when he continued to attack, I had to shoot. I couldn't save my son from the quagmire of drugs and gambling. I am very regretful, I wish it hadn't ended this way."
After his procedures, F.K. was referred to the courthouse and was arrested by the court.
