Strict audit from the SSI: Pension payments are being cancelled

The Social Security Institution (SSI) has launched a large-scale investigation into individuals who have retired through fraudulent insurance records. In the audits conducted across Turkey, the pensions of individuals who gained retirement rights by being shown as insured through fake workplaces are being cancelled.

According to the statement from the SSI, controls have been tightened, particularly for individuals living abroad who are shown as insured in Turkey. It has been announced that in cases of detected irregular retirement transactions, the paid pensions will be recovered along with interest.

FRAUDULENT INSUREES ARE BEING IDENTIFIED ONE BY ONE

The audits revealed that fraudulent insurance transactions were carried out through vacant lots, closed workplaces, or firms that never operated.

The SSI, classifying such situations as "gaining fraudulent service," has cancelled all detected irregular retirement transactions.

While it has been determined that the number of people retiring through fraudulent insurance has increased, especially in the last three years, the SSI announced that it will further tighten its audits against such irregular transactions.

CANCELLED RETIREES AND THE LEGAL PROCESS

Individuals whose retirement has been cancelled by the SSI can first apply to the SSI with an objection petition. However, if fraudulent insurance is detected during the review, the pension is completely terminated, and all paid pensions are recovered with interest.

The SSI announced that it will take stricter measures against fraudulent insurance transactions and that audits will continue without interruption. While it was emphasized that citizens should be careful against such transactions, it was also stated that legal sanctions against workplaces that provide fraudulent insurance notifications will be on the agenda in the coming period.
