Striking detail emerges about the hero prosecutor who dismantled the newborn gang

The 'Newborn Gang' was uncovered following a report submitted to the Istanbul Provincial Health Directorate via CİMER on March 27, 2023. The report was forwarded to the Istanbul Police Department's Financial Crimes Investigation Branch on May 21, 2023.

Subsequently, the Büyükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office conducted the investigation.

LICENSES OF 10 HOSPITALS REVOKED

While 22 of the 47 gang member suspects were arrested, the licenses of 10 hospitals involved in the scandal were revoked.

HE DID NOT HEED THE THREAT, HE ORDERED THE OPERATION

One of the most notable names regarding the operation was Büyükçekmece Public Prosecutor Yavuz Engin, who dismantled the gang. Prosecutor Engin, who was threatened with death in his office by a gang member, did not take a step back and gave the order for the operation.

9 PEOPLE HAD BEEN DETAINED

9 people, including Mustafa Kemal Zengin, who threatened the prosecutor in his office, and the female lawyer accompanying him, had been detained.

HE WATCHED THEM BEING TAKEN AWAY IN REVERSE HANDCUFFS

In the photos reflected in the press, it was seen that Prosecutor Engin watched the moment the individuals who threatened him were taken away in reverse handcuffs. While Prosecutor Engin won everyone's affection, a new development regarding the prosecutor has emerged.

A STRIKING DETAIL HAS EMERGED

Prosecutor Yavuz Engin was appointed from the Saruhanlı Chief Public Prosecutor's Office to the Büyükçekmece Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in April 2024. The 'Newborn Baby Gang' file, which the Istanbul Financial Crimes Investigation Branch initiated following a complaint made via CİMER, was also assigned to Prosecutor Engin.

Yavuz Engin, who examined the file, gave the operation order to the financial police.

WHO IS PROSECUTOR YAVUZ ENGİN, WHO DISMANTLED THE NEWBORN GANG?

Prosecutor Yavuz Engin was born in Germany in 1989 and completed his education in Turkey. He completed his primary and secondary education at Bolu 50. Yıl Secondary School and his high school education at Bolu İzzet Baysal Anatolian High School in 2008.

In 2009, he began his university education at Istanbul University Faculty of Law and graduated in 2013.

Following his graduation, he completed his legal internship at the Istanbul Bar Association and began his professional career as a prosecutor candidate in 2014. After his internship process, he was appointed to the Saruhanlı Public Prosecutor's Office and began his duty there.

Prosecutor Engin was promoted to the position of Büyükçekmece Public Prosecutor by the HSK in April 2024.
