Survey results released: Citizens are wary of the 'new peace process'!
While discussions continue in the public sphere regarding the meetings held with terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan and the PKK's decision for a unilateral ceasefire, a survey conducted by Özdemir Araştırma shows that the majority of participants expressed negative views on the process.

Following the remarkable call made by MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, the contacts being conducted with the terrorist organization PKK and Abdullah Öcalan, which have returned to the agenda of Turkish politics, have also brought public reaction with them.
The meetings held by the DEM Party delegation, which visited İmralı three times to meet with Abdullah Öcalan, resulted in the organization's decision to lay down arms. However, whether this process is trustworthy has become a subject of public debate.
LETTER FROM ÖCALAN
Following the third visit by the DEM Party delegation, the letter Öcalan sent to the PKK, in which he also proposed that the organization dissolve itself, was shared with the public. Following this development, the PKK announced that they would not use weapons unless they were attacked. However, government circles did not find this approach sufficient. The government front maintained a clear stance that the organization must dissolve itself completely.
MALAZGİRT CALL FROM BAHÇELİ
The most striking move of the process came once again from MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli. Bahçeli stated that the PKK should convene a congress within the borders of Turkey, in the Malazgirt district of Muş, and dissolve itself. This call by Bahçeli found wide resonance in the political arena.
In the shadow of all these developments, Özdemir Araştırma shared the results of a public opinion survey conducted with 2,026 people between March 10-17. Within the scope of the survey, participants were asked, "How do you think the meetings held with Abdullah Öcalan will result for the country?"
The data obtained revealed that a significant portion of society harbors concerns regarding the process. Of those who participated in the survey:
52.8 percent said the meetings would have negative results for the country.
28.2 percent stated that this process could yield positive results.
19 percent gave the answer "neither positive nor negative."
