Tax record holders announced: The name at the top is no surprise
The Revenue Administration has announced the 2024 income tax record holders. Baykar Chairman of the Board Selçuk Bayraktar took the first spot on the list, while his brother Haluk Bayraktar took second place. While the name in third place was kept confidential, Koç Holding Honorary Chairman Mustafa Rahmi Koç ranked fourth.

In second place is Baykar General Manager Lütfü Haluk Bayraktar, while the identity of the taxpayer in third place was not disclosed.
In the fourth position on the list is one of the prominent names of the business world, Mustafa Rahmi Koç.
MORE THAN 5 MILLION PEOPLE FILED TAX RETURNS
According to data from the Revenue Administration (GİB), 5 million 132 thousand 895 people across Turkey filed income tax returns. A total tax base of 1 trillion 407 billion 889 million 486 thousand 11 TL was declared in these returns. Based on the declared tax base, 418 billion 465 million 820 thousand 799 TL in income tax was accrued.
When looking at the record holders list by city, it was observed that the highest number of taxpayers in the top 100 came from Istanbul.
Istanbul: 75 people
Ankara: 10 people
Izmir: 6 people
Gaziantep: 5 people
Eskişehir: 2 people
Bursa and Karabük: 1 person each
AVERAGE TAX AMOUNT IS 81 THOUSAND TL
In the 2024 taxation period, the average tax base declared by a taxpayer was 274 thousand 288 TL. The average income tax amount calculated on this figure was announced as 81 thousand 526 TL.
Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir ranked in the top three in Turkey in terms of both the number of tax returns and the total tax base and accrued tax amount.
