The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change has announced that starting tomorrow, temperatures across the country will drop to 4 to 10 degrees below seasonal norms.
According to the statement made on the Ministry's social media account, based on data received from the General Directorate of Meteorology, a drop in air temperatures is expected starting tomorrow.
As the country enters the influence of cold and rainy weather arriving from the Balkans, temperatures will drop 4-6 degrees below seasonal norms in the western parts and 8-10 degrees below in other regions.
Rain mixed with sleet and snowfall is expected in the northern, inner, and eastern regions, particularly in higher elevations. The cold weather will persist in the west until the weekend and in other regions until the beginning of next week.
Additionally, there is a risk of agricultural frost in the southeast of Marmara, the Inner Aegean, the Lakes Region, Central Anatolia, the inner parts of the Black Sea, and the west of Eastern Anatolia.
The lowest temperatures are expected to be minus 2 degrees in Ankara, 2 in Istanbul, 5 in Izmir, minus 2 in Konya, 8 in Antalya, minus 2 in Bolu, 4 in Samsun, 3 in Trabzon, minus 6 in Erzurum, minus 1 in Malatya, and 3 degrees in Diyarbakır.
