Husband who killed his wife, a mother of five, in the middle of the street: I stopped when I made eye contact with my child
In the Dilovası district of Kocaeli, a suspect who stabbed and killed his wife, a mother of five, in the middle of the street following an argument, has been arrested by the court. It was learned that the suspect stabbed his wife 15 times and stopped when he made eye contact with his 5-year-old child while attempting to escalate the attack during a moment of rage.

The incident occurred yesterday at around 14:00 on 705th Street in the Diliskelesi neighborhood. Erdal K. and his wife, Elif K., began to argue. Erdal K., who had gone out into the street with his wife, stabbed her multiple times in various parts of her body in front of everyone. Upon the notification of citizens in the vicinity, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene.
As Erdal K. was surrendering to the police who arrived at the scene, he was nearly lynched by neighborhood residents. Police teams fired a single shot into the air to disperse the angry crowd. Elif K., who was taken to the hospital in critical condition after initial intervention at the scene, could not be saved despite all the efforts of the doctors and lost her life.

It was learned that in his statements, the suspect claimed he had a mental breakdown, alleging that he had been cheated on. It was stated that Erdal K., who killed his wife with 15 stab wounds, said in his testimony that he wanted to take his actions further and cause much more severe harm to his wife, but that he ended his actions when he made eye contact with his youngest child, aged 5, at that moment.
It was learned that the couple had 5 children, the youngest being 5 and the others ranging between 18 and 25 years old, and that one of the children is currently in prison for a different crime.
Her funeral was laid to rest in Erzurum
It was reported that the body of Elif K., the mother of five who fell victim to the murder, was received by her family after the procedures, taken to Erzurum, and laid to rest there following the funeral prayer.
