The 10 provinces with the highest number of housing sales to foreigners have been announced
Housing sales to foreign nationals in Turkey decreased by 45.8 percent in the January-May period compared to the same period of the previous year. According to TUIK data, 9 thousand 24 houses were sold to foreigners in the first 5 months of 2024, with the highest number of sales occurring in holiday regions. Housing sales to foreigners in May decreased by 34.8 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 2 thousand 64.

According to the data, the list of the top 10 provinces with the highest number of sales to foreigners is as follows:
10 - Trabzon: Trabzon was the only Black Sea city to enter the list for housing sales to foreigners. While 121 housing units were sold to foreigners in the province this year, 207 sales were made in the same period last year.
9 - In Aydın, one of the popular provinces for summer tourism, 134 residential properties were sold to foreigners this year. Last year, 203 residential properties were sold to foreigners in the city.
8 - Kocaeli: In the industrial city of Kocaeli, 150 residential properties were sold to foreigners this year. In the same period last year, foreigners had purchased 240 homes in the city.
7 - İzmir: İzmir, where 158 residential properties were sold to foreigners this year, has become one of the provinces with the sharpest decline in sales to foreigners. In the same period last year, 373 residential properties had been sold to foreigners in the city.
6 - Bursa: In Bursa, 207 residential properties were sold to foreigners in 2024. In the same period last year, 443 residential properties had been sold to foreigners in the city.
5 - Yalova: In Yalova, one of the cities that attracts interest from foreigners, 210 residential properties were sold to foreigners this year. In the same period last year, 427 residential properties had been sold to foreigners in Yalova.
4 - Ankara: A total of 221 residential properties were sold to foreigners in the capital this year. In the same period last year, this figure stood at 504.
3 - Mersin: The 3rd province where foreigners preferred to buy the most housing was Mersin, with 826 sales. In the city, 1,231 housing units were sold to foreigners last year.
2 - Istanbul: In Istanbul, which ranks second, 3 thousand 128 sales were made. In the same period last year, 5 thousand 329 housing units had been sold.
1 - Antalya: In Antalya, which ranks first, 3 thousand 275 houses were sold to foreigners in the first 5 months of the year. In the same period last year, this figure was 6 thousand 446 in the city.
