The anticipated meeting in Ankara... Yavaş-İmamoğlu summit! What will be discussed at the meeting?

Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu will travel to Ankara tomorrow to hold various meetings. In this context, it has been reported that he will meet with Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) Mayor Mansur Yavaş at 11:00 AM at the ABB building.

İMAMOĞLU'S ANKARA CONTACTS

Ekrem İmamoğlu, who will compete as the sole candidate for the presidential nomination in the primary election to be held by the CHP on March 23, continues his campaign efforts. İmamoğlu, who has been holding public meetings in different cities during the nomination process, states that he occasionally encounters obstacles such as the allocation of venues. Emphasizing that he will continue his struggle for the nomination despite all these difficulties, İmamoğlu will hold a large-scale meeting in Ankara on March 15.

On the other hand, another prominent name in the CHP's presidential nomination process is Mansur Yavaş. However, Yavaş had previously stated in his remarks that he would not participate in the CHP's primary election process.

YAVAŞ: "I WILL NOT BE PART OF THE DISPUTES"

In a message he sent to the program "Türkiye'nin Nabzı" (Pulse of Turkey) broadcast on Habertürk TV recently, Mansur Yavaş stated that he would not take a position that would cause a rift within the CHP.

In his message, Yavaş said, "I will not be involved in the disputes, and I will not position myself in a way that would make the CHP appear fragmented. Mayor Ekrem is my companion. However, I also have my own political roadmap, and I will share it when the time comes. I will not attend the meeting, but I will convey my best wishes."

Furthermore, Yavaş stated that he would stand against injustices in İmamoğlu's political struggle, saying, "I will stand against any injustices committed against Mayor Ekrem until the end. However, I am no one's backup; I would not lower myself to that position."

İMAMOĞLU-YAVAŞ MEETING EXPECTED

These statements by Mansur Yavaş had raised questions in the public eye such as, "Is there tension between İmamoğlu and Yavaş?" However, the decision of both parties to meet is considered an important development in terms of political equations.

İBB Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu is expected to meet with Mansur Yavaş at the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality tomorrow at 11:00 AM. Volkan Gültekin, the former press advisor to Mansur Yavaş, stated that the meeting would take place at the ABB building. Gültekin conveyed that Mansur Yavaş would host İmamoğlu in his office and that İmamoğlu would present flowers to Yavaş.
