The first snow of the year has fallen... Everywhere has turned white!
As heavy snowfall intensifies in Kastamonu, snow depth in the higher parts of the city has approached 10 centimeters. Difficulties were experienced in transportation to the higher elevations of the Devrekani, Seydiler, Ağlı, and Küre districts, as well as to Abana, Bozkurt, and Çatalzeytin. Highway and Provincial Special Administration teams have launched snow-clearing operations. Traffic police have warned drivers to avoid excessive speed and to maintain a safe following distance.

While heavy rain was effective in the city center of Kastamonu, heavy snowfall intensified in the higher parts of the city.
Snow depth approached 10 centimeters at the Isırganlık location and the 1450-meter-high Yaralıgöz Pass on the highway route providing transportation from the city center to the higher elevations of the Devrekani, Seydiler, Ağlı, and Küre districts, as well as the districts of Abana, Bozkurt, and Çatalzeytin.
Some vehicles skidded and went off the road, but were able to continue their journey as a result of the teams' efforts.
Following the snowfall, Highway and Provincial Special Administration teams launched snow removal operations.
Traffic teams also warned drivers to maintain a safe following distance and to avoid excessive speed.
