ANTALYA WAS THE LEADER IN DOMESTIC ACCOMMODATIONS
Turkey's 2024 holiday reports have been announced. According to reservations made in 2024, the city with the most accommodations was Antalya, while the flight route with the most tickets issued was Nicosia.
Greece topped the list of countries most visited by those planning holidays, while the most requested international tour was Dubai.
While Antalya ranked first in domestic accommodations, it was followed by Cyprus, Istanbul, and Bodrum, respectively.
Last year, the region with the most accommodations, especially by families with children, was Antalya. 133 thousand 62 adults stayed for a total of 233 thousand 664 reservation days. Antalya had also ranked 1st in 2023. According to travel experts, Antalya is preferred for reasons such as its nature, hotel variety, abundance of regional and service options, ease of transportation, and its appeal to families with children.
THE 'BABY HOMELAND' WAS ONE OF THE MOST PREFERRED HOLIDAY SPOTS
Cyprus came in second with 121 thousand 319 reservation days, Istanbul third with 55 thousand 748 reservation days, and Bodrum fourth with 36 thousand 713 reservation days. Cyprus had also ranked 2nd in 2023. According to travel experts, the extension of the summer holiday period, the Mediterranean climate, and the short flight duration are the reasons for Cyprus's preference.
Another region with the highest number of accommodations is Sapanca. Sapanca is preferred due to its natural beauty and its proximity as a destination, especially for weekends. The region also manages to attract domestic and foreign tourists with its daily accommodation services, which have been quite popular in recent months.
23 THOUSAND PLANE TICKETS WERE ISSUED TO NICOSIA IN 2024
The demand for hotels in the Cyprus region was also reflected in plane tickets. Nicosia, which received the most flight demand with 23,335 plane tickets, was followed by Antalya with 1,249 tickets and Istanbul with 1,231 tickets.
CAPPADOCIA, GAP TOURS, AND LAKE SALDA BECAME TOURIST HOTSPOTS
With 2 thousand 200 reservation days, Cappadocia was the most popular route; it is a region that generally experiences an influx of visitors in the autumn period but is preferred in all 4 seasons. It is preferred by guests planning weekend holidays for its unique panorama. Ihlara Valley and Taşköprü were also essential parts of Cappadocia tours.
With 1,014 reservation days, GAP tours by plane were the second most preferred, and with 548 reservation days, sightseeing tours including Lake Salda and Pamukkale were among the third most preferred tourist travel routes.
TURKS TRAVELED MOST TO THESE 3 COUNTRIES IN 2024
The top 3 countries where vacationers planned travel remained unchanged. Greece ranked first among the most visited countries, followed by Georgia in second place and Egypt in third.
DUBAI MAINTAINED ITS TOP SPOT FOR INTERNATIONAL TOURIST TOURS
Dubai tours maintained their first-place position among the indispensable tours of the autumn and winter periods.
The Sharm El Sheikh region, on the other hand, is in demand as it is one of the most affordable routes for all-inclusive concepts as hotel prices rise.
The Thessaloniki & Kavala tours are the most preferred region as a nearby destination. According to travel experts, Thessaloniki currently stands out as the most beautiful and advantageous weekend holiday for all guests. When evening taverns are combined with daytime swimming tours, it meets the expectations of the majority.
